This on-screen keyboard allows you to easily type Arabic text, including letters, numbers, diacritics (tashkeel), and special symbols.

How to use this online Arabic keyboard

Desktop users

  • Click any key on the keyboard to add that character to the input field.
  • You can also use your physical keyboard: typing Latin letters (QWERTY) will automatically insert the corresponding Arabic letter (e.g. typing s adds س).
  • To delete, press the ⌫ Backspace button or the backspace key on your keyboard.
  • To add a space, use the Space button or your keyboard’s spacebar.
  • Copy your completed text to the clipboard using the Copy button.

Mobile and tablet users

  • Tap any key to add that character.
  • Swipe left or right if you don’t see all the keys (the keyboard can scroll horizontally).
  • Use the ⌫ Backspace, Space, and Copy buttons as needed.

Keyboard sections

Main Letters & Numbers: Includes all standard Arabic letters and Arabic-Indic numerals (١, ٢, ٣ … ٠).

Diacritics (Tashkeel): Add short vowels and pronunciation marks to your text for accurate reading and learning:

  • َ (Fatha), ُ (Damma), ِ (Kasra)
  • ً (Tanwin Fath), ٌ (Tanwin Damm), ٍ (Tanwin Kasr)
  • ْ (Sukun) – marks absence of a vowel
  • ّ (Shadda) – indicates a doubled consonant
  • ـ (Tatweel/Kashida) – for stretching/elongation (decorative)

Hamza Forms: Use these for words that require special forms of hamza:

  • أ (alif with hamza above)
  • إ (alif with hamza below)
  • آ (alif madda)
  • ٱ (alif wasla)
  • ء (standalone hamza)

Punctuation: Arabic’s distinct, right-to-left punctuation marks:

  • ، (comma)
  • ؛ (semicolon)
  • ؟ (question mark)

Tips

  • To enter numbers, use the number keys on the keyboard for Arabic-Indic numerals.
  • To enter diacritics, simply click/tap the desired mark.
  • You can mix diacritics with letters for more precise writing (useful for learners and religious texts).
  • When you’re finished, use the Copy button to easily paste your Arabic text wherever you need it.
  • Click ‘Clear’ to start again.
