This policy explains what information I collect on MezzoGuild.com (The Mezzofanti Guild) and how I use it. It applies only to this site.

What I collect

If you subscribe to my emails, I collect your email address (and a name if you give one).

If you contact me or leave a comment, I collect whatever you send — typically your name, email, and message.

The site also collects ordinary technical data such as your IP address, browser, and pages visited. That happens through cookies and similar tools, mainly for analytics and advertising.

I don’t collect information from children. This site is for adults. If you think a child has submitted information, contact me.

How I use it

I use this information to run the site, send emails you’ve asked for, reply to you, publish comments, understand how the site is used, and show advertising.

I don’t sell your personal information as a mailing list. I do use third-party services that process data for me, as described below.

Who else sees it

I use:

• Kit to send emails
• Google Analytics to see how the site is used (Google’s privacy policy)
• Raptive to place advertising on the site (Raptive’s advertising privacy statement)
• Affiliate programs so I can tell if a product I recommended was purchased through this site

Those companies have their own privacy policies. Advertising and analytics partners may set cookies and collect data about your visit to this site and others, including to show you more relevant ads. You can opt out of a lot of that at aboutads.info/choices.

I may also share information if the law requires it, to protect the site, or as part of a DMCA notice (which I may share with the other party in the dispute).

Comments are public. Don’t put anything in a comment you wouldn’t want indexed or quoted.

Emails

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email I send you.

Your choices

You can block cookies in your browser. Some parts of the site (especially ads) may not work as intended if you do.

This site links out, including to products I recommend. I’m not responsible for those sites or their privacy practices.

Changes

I can update this policy by posting a new version here. The date at the top will change when I do.
