I’ll give you my rundown of the best online Galician courses to date.
Below, you’ll find the pros and cons of each Galician course, along with pricing information and a brief summary.

1. Talk In Galician

Summary: Talk In Galician is definitely one of the best online courses for learning Galician, with hundreds of lessons designed to take you from zero knowledge through to a B1 equivalent competency.
It’s a linear course that will walk you through every aspect of the language in an easy-to-understand format.
What I like:
- Very comprehensive, detailed course that covers all aspects of Galician
- Inexpensive and no subscriptions necessary

2. Portal da Lingua Galega (CELGA)
Cost: Free
Summary: Offered by the Xunta de Galicia, this is the official platform for learning Galician and preparing for the CELGA proficiency exams.
There are four CELGA courses plus various free resources covering grammar, reading comprehension and formal writing. Note that the site itself is only available in Galician and Spanish - there’s no English interface.
What I like:

- Frustratingly, not all courses and resources links actually work

This pretty much sums up every decent online Galician course option currently available.
Galician is still a lesser-taught language, so the best results usually come from combining a structured course with free official resources (like CELGA prep) and real conversation practice.
In addition to a Galician course, make sure you’re getting regular Galician practice with native speakers.
For that, italki is still the easiest way to find really inexpensive practice partners and tutors.
Just remember that even if you have all the courses on this list, you’ll still fail at Galician without the right motivation.
